A Delhi court on Wednesday halted the proceedings against a man who was turned into an accused by the Delhi Police days after he filed a complaint with the police alleging loot, arson, and damage to his house during the violence and riots that broke out in the national capital in February last year.
Hashim Ali had filed a complaint regarding burning down of his house by a mob during the riots, however, later the same was clubbed with another FIR where he has been named as an accused.
A Delhi court on Tuesday expressed displeasure at the media coverage in the case relating to the larger conspiracy that led to the violence and riots that broke out in North-East Delhi last year.
It was further argued by the counsel for petitioner that the credibility of witness Roop Singh has been doubted by the Ld. ASJ mentioned above. Thus, the petitioner deserves bail.
