The Madras High Court has dismissed a PIL seeking direction to the District Collector, Tiruppur District to construct a floor level concrete road bridge in  Periyanadhapalayam in Sembiyanallur village, as the villagers are willing to provide money for its construction, so that the villagers may approach the burial ground easily.

Ashwini Upadhyay requested the Court to analyse whether political parties are really concerned about governance or do they cynically participate in the evisceration of the democratic electoral process. The Centre and ECI have not taken steps to regulate the freebies in political parties manifestos.
