The Supreme Court on Thursday has begun the final hearings in Center for Public Interest Litigation’s (CPIL) challenge against the appointment of IPS officer Rakesh Asthana’s as Police Commissioner of Delhi.
The Delhi High Court today will take up its suo moto matter concerning the shocking shootout that occurred inside the Rohini Court Complex on September 24, 2021, which left three people dead and one woman lawyer injured.
The development came after Delhi High Court division bench inquired about the meaning of a term used in context of service jurisprudence in the petition, which Advocate B.S. Bagga, representing the petitioner, was unable to explain and sought time to apprise the court on the meaning of the term.
The Delhi High Court was informed by lawyer Prashant Bhushan that a petition has been moved by him before the Apex Court challenging the appointment of IPS Officer Rakesh Asthana as the Police Commissioner of Delhi.
