A Sessions Court of Jammu and Kashmir has granted bail to a person, accused of promoting enmity for his comments at a Janta Darbar that he has no expectations from non-local officers posted in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The judge while passing the said orders said, "It is indubitably true that every accused has the fundamental right to free and fair investigation as also trial."
The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered 21 FIRs across the state in the aftermath of the alleged gang rape and death of a 19-year-old woman in Hathras. The FIRs have been filed against charges such as defaming the government, inciting communal tension, sedition, promoting enmity, and criminal conspiracy.
