The Delhi Tis Hazari Court relied on the order of the Supreme Court of India in the Suo Moto Writ Petition taking stock of the prevailing situation arising from unprecedented surge in and spiraling cases in the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
This is the second case relating to the said violence in which Sidhu has been granted bail in connection with the violence that occurred in and around Red Fort on January 26.
During sustained interrogation, he revealed that he ran that news channel on which there's a 1 hr 15 min live. After the arguments, the court sent Singh to seven days police custody and directed them to produce him before the court next on February 18.
The miscreants attacked the police and paramilitary personnel deployed with rods, swords and sticks. They then broke into the Red Fort complex with tractors. There is no part left here that has not been damaged, the press release said.
“It is, therefore, a humble request to the Hon'ble Supreme Court that a Special Investigation Committee be formed on this entire matter to conduct a rigorous inquiry against the anti-social element involved in this unconstitutional activity so as to punish the accused,” the letter reads.
