A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking directions to the Union of India to safeguard the lives of road users undergoing death and injuries in road accidents by covering penal provisions under Sections 279, 304A, 337 and 338 of IPC into non-bailable.
The Delhi HC has framed a FastDAR (FAST- DETAILED ACCIDENT REPORT ) Scheme for resolving a road accident death cases within ten days. The victim's family will received the compensation without having to file any compensation case as the FastDAR will be treated as a claim petition by the Tribunal.
