The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the criminal writ petition against BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and ABP News, alleging a conspiracy hatched by them against innocent farmers, to implicate them as terrorists and hooligans by running fake news and propaganda on its news channel debate.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told newsmen: “Is phone tapping not a legal issue? Were the standard procedures laid down followed for phone tapping? The chief minister should answer if the state machinery was misused and if there is a veiled emergency in the state.”
The High Court of Chhattisgarh has granted interim relief to Sambit Patra, spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the FIRs registered against him for allegedly making derogatory statement against former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajvi Gandhi on his twitter account.
