The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the Ministry of External Affairs to look for alternative legal remedies in order to expedite the process of repatriation of the mortal remains of a Hindu man who was wrongly buried in Saudi Arabia.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday was informed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) that its senior officials have recently met with top Saudi officials and efforts are underway to "expeditiously" repatriate the mortal remains of deceased Hindu man who was mistakenly buried in Saudi Arabia.
The single-judge bench headed by Justice Pratibha directed that a senior official shall be present before the court on the next date while fixing the matter for the next hearing on March 18.
Terror accused and surgeon Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, who was deported from Saudi Arabia last year was sent to judicial remand till March 31 by a Delhi Court on Wednesday.
