The Supreme Court Bar Association elections were held today. Members of the SCBA voted for their choice of president, vice-president, honorary secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, senior executive members and executive members.
The SCBA Election Committee notification said after having deliberated upon the advice of the Health Advisory Committee and the suggestions received from members of the Bar, it has decided to extend the voting timings.
A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to conduct upcoming Supreme Court Bar Association elections 2020-2021, strictly by way of “secret ballot” in physical form, in terms of Bye-Law no. 17 of Supreme Court Bar Association.
A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court against the Supreme Court Bar Association alleging that the Executive Committee of the SCBA has made brazen attempts to interfere with the Election process
