Special land acquisition officer

Allahabad High Court while hearing a petition filed by Smt Tulsarani and Another held that commercial courts cannot entertain applications filed under Section-34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act-2013 challenging the quantum of compensation awarded under the National Highways Act (NHI)-1956.

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to the Special Land Acquisition Officer Malaprabha Project Dharwad 3 and the Executive Engineer M.L.B.C.C., Karnataka, over a plea seeking enhancement of compensation provided to the petitioner in lieu of his land acquired by the state for submersion in the river Malaprabha reservoir project.
