Madhya Pradesh High Court dismisses a petition challenging the Circular issued by the Bar Council of India directing that students should be send to internship only when there is a vacation of Universities/Colleges.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the full Supreme Court. A letter has been addressed regarding the same by the secretary of the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates to the Registrar Generals of all High Courts, Secretary Bar Council of India, and Secretaries of all State Bar Councils.
The BCI via the latest notification has resolved to constitute a committee to review the rules. The Committee shall consist of some senior advocates, representatives of State Bar Councils and High Court and other Bar Associations, besides five Members of Bar Council of India.
Any indecent or derogatory, defamatory or motivated, statements made in the Print, Electronic or Social Media against any Court or Judge or any member of Judiciary, by any Advocate shall be a ground for his/her suspension or disqualification, said the amended Bar Council of India rules.
New Delhi (ILNS): The Bar Council of India has decided to extend the deadline for submission of details of all practicing advocates enrolled with their respective State Bar Councils as per the requirement of the E-Committee of the Supreme Court of India.
