The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the district courts in the capital to “strictly adhere” to its full-court order wherein the existing mechanism of hybrid hearing in the Delhi High Court and the Delhi district courts was permitted to continue where a request to such effect is made by the parties concerned.
The order was passed in view of the recent covid surge and restricted functioning of the High Court as well as the Subordinate Courts in the West Bengal and UT of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Earlier, Ashwini also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking an increase in the retirement age of the Judges of Higher Courts and Subordinate Courts.
Interim orders have been extended from time to time. On August 19, 2020 detailed orders were issued to extend the period of interim orders and the period of the caveat till December 1.
