The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Tamil Nadu government to allot students for PG admissions to Christian Medical College Vellore for the academic year 2021-22 from the NEET merit list of students belonging to the Christian minority after counselling of the Selection Committee.
The division bench of Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy has sought response from the Tamil Nadu government to fill up pending vacancies across the District Commissions of the consumer forum.
The State Government submitted that it has been asserted in the memorandum that only 2956 transgenders have been provided with the first lot of cash relief and there are a further 8493 transgender persons who are entitled to receive the same benefit.
It was decided by the Committee constituted by the Court that a total sum of Rs 7.916 lakh would be used for the Greater Chennai area. A sum of Rs 11.87 lakh was required to be distributed to 14 other corporation areas.
