The Supreme Court has adjourned to August 25, a batch of petitions seeking permission to appear in the TGT/PGT examination for appointment of Assistant Teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh, under Article 32.
The Allahabad High Court has allowed Uttar Pradesh to resume the process of recruiting assistant basic teachers, provided it sets aside over half of the 69,000 posts for `shiksha mitras’ who now hold temporary jobs.
The Uttar Pradesh government will appeal against an order of the Allahabad High Court that stayed the appointment process of 69,000 assistant teachers in the state.
