The Supreme Court on Friday expressed its happiness over the steps taken by the Centre for evacuation of Indian students stranded in the war-torn country of Ukraine.
The Supreme Court on Thursday directed Attorney General K.K. Venugopal to consider the petition seeking evacuation of Indians stuck in Ukraine, while stating in a lighter tone, "Should I tell Russian President to stop the war?"
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Union to immediately take the effective diplomatic steps and measures for the evacuation of stranded Indian citizens, including students and families in Ukraine.
