The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to pay an interim cost of Rs 7 lakh to a man seeking justice for his son’s killing in an encounter case in 2002. The Court also pulled up the government over its conduct in the case.
Traders in Uttar Pradesh alleged they were being framed by state police resulting in obstacles to movement of goods. The Allahabad High Court pulled up UP police for false FIRs. UP Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Kumar Awasthi clarified in court that guidelines will be issued against this.
Along with this, H.P Srivastava, Addl. C.S.C. has been ordered to be present on May 21 after receiving instructions from the state government on all points.
