A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court, asking for directions to the Union of India (UOI) to issue comprehensive guidelines with respect to online virtual classes through video conferencing for children. Nand Kishore Garg filed this PIL through his advocate Shashank Deo Sudhi.
The Orissa High Court after experiencing some horrible incidents while conducting hearing through Video Conferencing seriously condemned the conducting of a case inside a vehicle on road.
SC has expunged the remarks made against an advocate by the court during a virtual hearing on August 25. The court had commented that the advocate had refused to open his mouth during virtual court hearing, because he was waiting for his senior and that he was taking advantage of a non-physical hearing.
On account of the hardships being faced by armed forces personnel, the AFTs principal bench has inaugurated hearings through video conferencing for all 10 regional benches of the tribunal.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Service Authority organized its first E-Lok Adalat through different digital platform modes. A total of 4,273 cases were disposed of by 110 benches across the UT’s of J&K and Ladakh on August 22.
The Delhi High Court disposed of 2,800 main cases and around 11,000 miscellaneous applications, through video conference hearings, between April 1 and July 31. The court had listed 13,000 matters before different benches.
In the wake of Covid-19, all courts have remained shut for nearly five months and have been holding hearings through video conferencing. Although lockdown restrictions were eased from June onwards, courts have continued to hold only virtual hearings.
The Registry of the Supreme Court of India has written to the President of Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association informing about the decision made in a meeting held on August 11 among Judges of the Committee with regards to the resumption of physical hearing of cases in the Court Rooms.
