President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday gave her assent to the Waqf (Amendment), Bill, 2025, which aimed to regulate the Waqf properties by proposing amendments in the Waqf Act, 1995. The Bill was passed by both Houses of Parliament earlier this week after heated debates. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was first introduced in the Lok Sabha in August 2024.
