The Supreme Court has refused to stay the Election Commission’s order on Shiv Sena election symbol case but has issued notice to both parties. The Uddhav Thackeray faction had challenged the EC order. The matter has been listed after two weeks.

In the Morbi bridge accident case, the compensation to the families of the dead and those injured has been increased. The Gujarat High Court ordered contractor Oreva to pay Rs 10 lakh interim compensation to families of the deceased and the injured will now get Rs 2 lakh.
