Today, a tree plantation drive was carried by residents of Aakriti Shantiniketan to commemorate India’s 74th Independence Day with pride and enthusiasm in its campus at Sector 143 B, Noida.
The flag hoisting done by children of the society which was followed by a beautiful rendition of National Anthem and Patriotic Songs by children, women and residents of the Society.
Cultural Event of Independence day was facilitated by Ms Shail Verma, Ms Deepali, Ms Sugandha, Ms Apoorva.
After Flag Hoisting, the residents of Aakriti Shantiniketan carried out a tree plantation drive for plantation of 121 saplings of different species like Arjun, Amaltash, Imli, Ashok, Aam, Kathal, peepal etc. The Plantation was carried out in and around the campus and both side of the road in front of Aakriti Shantiniketan. Over 100 volunteers took part in well-orchestrated campaign which witnessed active participation from senior, young and lovely children from the Aakriti Shantiniketan Society. This plantation drive was not limited to just plant sapling but also with theme “Adopt and nurture the plant with title”. The residents voluntarily opted to adopt and own the plant for proper maintenance, fencing and watering for long term survival. The Horticulture Department of NOIDA and ASN Management extended their full cooperation in this plantation drive and assured all help in maintenance and fencing of the plants outside the campus. The Volunteers thanked all the residents for showing keen interest and enthusiasm in this drive and decided to carry out more such drive for clean environment on 2nd October 2020.
This tree plantation drive was organized by a committee of residents Mr. M.M. Sharma, Mr R.S. Negi, Mr. R.K. Sachdev, Er. R.M. Verma, Mr. R.P. Singh, Mr Bipin Sharma, Adv Naushad Ahmed Khan and Er. Pankaj Maheshwari.
