Decision of Punjab University challenged in Punjab and Haryana High Court for third time

New Delhi (ILNS): The decision of Punjab University (PU) not to conduct entrance examination for admission in five-year law course has now been challenged in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for the third time.

Yesterday, the High Court adjourned the hearing till October 21 and directed the Punjab University to submit a reply in one week.

On this matter Chirag Malli has filed a petition in the High Court through advocate Abhinav Gupta, alleging that the Punjab University had decided not to conduct the five-year law course entrance examination.

The High Court had asked Punjab University that when there are many examinations being conducted across the country, why not for this course?

Earlier, another petition was disposed of by the High Court, ordering the University to reconsider its decision. After the High Court order, University had again decided not to conduct the examination and to take admission on the basis of marks of class XII.

The petitioner then challenged this decision by filing a petition in the High Court.

On September 29, a bench headed by the Chief Justice, while disposing of the petition, asking the PU to reconsider the decision. Even after the High Court order, the University stood firm on its decision. Now again the petitioner has challenged this decision in the High Court.
