Allahabad High Court allows former office-bearers of HC Class IV employees welfare association to operate bank account

The Allahabad High Court has said that former executive secretary Devendra Pal Singh and treasurer Shivaji Prasad of the High Court Class IV Employees Welfare Association will continue to operate the association’s account.

The Division Bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Yogendra Kumar Srivastava passed this order while hearing a petition filed by the High Court Class IV Employees Welfare Association, Allahabad And Another.

The petition has been filed with the prayer that a direction be issued to the State Bank of India, High Court Branch through its Manager to permit the petitioner, which is a registered society of Class IV employees of the court, to operate its account.

Sumit Kakkar, the counsel for the State Bank of India, High Court Branch, stated that the prohibition placed by the bank in respect of petitioner’s account now stands withdrawn and the petitioners are free to operate the account.

“Having regard to the statement made by counsel for the State Bank of India, High Court Branch, nothing further survives to be decided in the petition. The petition stands disposed of in terms of the stand taken by him before the court,”
